In this role, you will keep the artistic vision intact while circumventing, or working within the limits of the production system. A Swiss army knife, you can cope with the vertical stack of modelling, lighting texturing and rendering. You have an good eye for detecting elements not crossing the photorealistic border and you typically  know what is needed to fix that.  You research new techniques in Houdini and you already have experience in creating VFX-Shots.

Job Description

• You are participating in the creation of digital composite or pure digital set renderings.

• You are able to execute a broad range of tasks, including image composition, modelling, lighting, texturing, rendering and Houdini-pipelining.

• You ensure the artistic and technical quality of the images.

• You can establish looks or follow style directions.

• You mentor and advise junior 3D-Artists through sharing of knowledge and tricks of the trade.

Job Requirements

• Good-developed communication skills is a minimum requirement; you have to communicate with different audiences.

• Be fluent in English and/or German.

• Good to very Good knowledge of Houdini and its node networks (COPs,ROPs,VOPs,SOPs etc.)

• Good understanding of form, colour, light and composition.

• Good understanding of technical principles such as Topology, GPU/Graphics Pipelines, UV-Layouting and Shaders.

• Experience with one or more software packages, such as V-Ray, Renderman, Octane, zBrush, Substance.

• Three (3) years of experience  as a Mid-Level 3D Generalist / 3D Technical Artist / Houdini TD - or comparable skills.
